Voice for the Silent is developing a Young Adults Mentorship Initiative designed to support survivors of human trafficking between the ages of 18 and 25 as they transition toward stability, independence, and long term empowerment. This structured program focuses on guided mentorship, trauma informed support, and survivor centered goal development. It is designed to complement legal advocacy, education pathways, and institutional navigation through consistent, safe, and accountable one-to-one mentorship.
Program Purpose
The transition from crisis to independence is a vulnerable stage where survivors often face isolation and disrupted education. This initiative provides structured mentorship to support:
- Confidence rebuilding
- Goal setting and personal development
- Educational and vocational navigation
- Healthy boundary development
- System literacy and advocacy support
Mentor Participation
We are seeking individuals committed to structured, trauma informed mentorship. Mentors will complete screening, participate in orientation, and commit to defined guidelines and ongoing supervision. Mentorship is defined as guided support not counseling or therapy rooted in consistency and respect.
Program Structure
Participants are matched based on needs and compatibility. Voice for the Silent provides guidelines and oversight to ensure long term sustainability and measurable impact.
Organizations interested in supporting this initiative through sponsorship, training, or funding are invited to connect at voiceforthesilent.ca@gmail.com

Voice for the Silent offers structured Advocacy Companion Sessions designed to provide real time emotional steadiness and systems navigation support.
These sessions are intended for individuals preparing to interact with institutions such as law enforcement, legal offices, schools, or social service agencies.
Through secure virtual or phone based sessions, participants receive guidance, preparation support, and informed discussion about what to expect when navigating institutional processes.
This service is not legal representation, licensed counseling, or crisis intervention. It is structured advocacy support designed to reduce isolation, increase confidence, and strengthen communication readiness.
Technology allows access to advocacy regardless of geography. Whether across provinces, states, or jurisdictions, participants need only a phone or internet connection to receive guided support.

Navigating the legal system can be intimidating and isolating, especially for survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence. Court proceedings often involve complex procedures, unfamiliar language, and high-stress situations that can retraumatize survivors. At Voice for the Silent, we believe no survivor should face the courtroom alone. That’s why we offer our Court Support Program for survivors attending Toronto courts.
What We Offer
Our program provides trauma-informed, survivor-centered support throughout the legal process, including:
- Emotional support: Our trained advocates accompany survivors before, during, and after court appearances, helping reduce anxiety and ensuring they feel seen and supported.
- Practical guidance: We explain courtroom procedures, what to expect during hearings, and survivor rights in clear, understandable terms.
- Advocacy: While we do not provide legal advice, we help survivors communicate their needs and ensure their voices are heard throughout the process.
- Resource referrals: Survivors are connected to counseling, legal aid, housing support, and other community resources as needed.
Who Can Access This Service
Our Court Support Program is available to survivors of:
- Human trafficking
- Domestic violence
- Any related legal matters where a survivor may feel vulnerable or require support in Toronto courts
Why Court Support Matters
Survivors often face unique challenges in court, including:
- Experiencing re-traumatization while recounting events
- Feeling intimidated by legal language and procedures
- Concerns about personal safety and privacy
